[Virtual] The Art of Being: A Self-Portrait Workshop for Women

$99.00

Date: January 18th

Time: 11am -3pm

Getting in front of the camera is an art form. And here's what I need you to know - you existing is just a beautiful thing. The art of being is truly enough.

A few years ago, I started doing these self-portraits and it became this amazing exercise in falling in love with myself. I was studying myself the same way I study my clients, looking at myself through the lens the way I do for the women in my "Black Women Being" series. And it was beyond interesting.

I want to help you do the same.

In this 4-hour workshop, we're going to get you comfortable in front of the camera. I'm teaching you how to film on your phone, how to use a camera, how to set yourself up. But really, we're practicing the art of witnessing yourself - of seeing that just being is enough.

Workshop Schedule

11:00am - 11:15am Welcome & Foundation. We'll explore the philosophy behind self-portraiture as an act of love and self-study. I'll share my journey and we'll set the foundation: you existing is enough.

11:15am - 12:00pm Phone Photography Mastery. Learn how to transform your phone into a powerful tool for self-portraiture. We'll cover portrait mode, natural light, composition, angles, and setup techniques.

12:00pm - 12:45pm Camera Fundamentals. I'll walk you through camera basics for self-portraits - aperture, focus, settings, and setup. You'll see exactly how to create your own setup at home.

12:45pm - 1:00pm Break. Grab water, adjust your space, get ready to practice.

1:00pm - 2:15pm Live Self-Study Practice with Personal Coaching. Photograph yourself in your own space while I coach you live through Zoom. Real-time feedback on your angles, lighting, and setup as you experiment and get comfortable being seen.

2:15pm - 2:50pm Continued Practice & Open Q&A. Extended time to push through discomfort, find your rhythm, and ask questions.

2:50pm - 3:00pm Closing & Next Steps. Share discoveries and learn about your post-workshop personalized portfolio review.

After the Workshop Submit your 5 favorite self-portraits and receive a personalized video review from me with feedback and direction for your continued journey.
